Adrienne + Drew’s Elegant Black Tie Wedding

Adrienne and Drew decided to tie the knot in Historic Downtown Charleston in one of the most centrally located event venues… The Francis Marion Hotel. This elegant black tie event was one of epic proportions. This wedding was very reminiscent of everything classic about the Charleston social scene. Every last detail was thought of and noteworthy. This night was one for the books.

Adrienne and her bridesmaids got ready with the help of Lashes in Lace in one of the hotel suites. Their matching silk robes were a nice elegant touch to start out the day. The color scheme was very upbeat, mostly focusing on purple with gold accents with pops of bright yellow, pink, and green in the florals. After everyone had finished getting ready, the bride excitedly headed to Marion Square for the first look. Her husband-to-be was waiting for her and they had an emotional first look. Soon after some pictures were taken, the couple headed down to the church for the ceremony. The alter was flanked with beautiful floral arrangements by JW Weddings .   After Adrienne and Drew exchanged vows, everyone headed back to the Francis Marion for the reception. The Colonial Ballroom  was absolutely breathtaking.  Amazing work once again by the Sara Cavallon Celebrations and JW Weddings teams. Everything was in shades of purple with gold accents and there were bright flowers all around the ballroom.   Adrienne and Drew got married on the day before 4th of July, so for the send-off, they had guests wave American flags. They were whisked away by a Charleston Bike Taxi. All other transportation was provided by Holy City Transportation.  This incredible event was managed and executed by the talented ladies at Sara Cavallon Celebrations.

A special thanks to Ashley Bakery for providing the cake, Travis Allison Band for the reception entertainment, and Studio R for the invitations.

Lauren + Maxwell’s Preppy Casual Wedding

This preppy casual affair is complete with Bermuda shorts and bowties- all which ties together the kelly green and white color scheme the couple has chosen. The bride and groom chose this theme because it describes their personalities and their goal for the wedding is for their guests to have a fun and memorable night.

Lauren and Maxwell made Charleston their destination! Lauren is the assistant Vice President at an insurance company in Atlanta.  Maxwell is an industrial engineer, but his current occupation is as a stay-at-home dad to their son Dean. Lauren and Maxwell met at their local watering hole after a wine festival. They became fast friends and this eventually grew into something more. Before they knew it, Maxwell was proposing to her in her hometown of Port Jefferson Harbor, NY. The two love birds enjoy staying active together. Bike riding, cooking, playing sports, and boating are just a few of the things that the share a passion for.

This event took place at Seaside Point at Wild Dunes. This added to the very southern preppy feeling to it. The event was casual, but still very well put together and executed. Lauren’s beautifully stark white David’s Bridal gown was stunning and fit the theme perfectly. Lauren and Maxwell opted for a first look and it was so sweet, these two are head over heels for each other! Their I-do’s took place with a clear view of the Atlantic. This was a great location because it was at the beach, but not in the sand. It was nice to give off the beach vibe without having to worry about getting sandy. The couple did get some great shots on the beach at sunset. Back at the reception, there were preppy touches everywhere. Custom sunglasses, gift bags with pineapple stickers, King of Pops ice pops, and the list goes on! All of the guests had a blast dancing to DJ Alan Brown, and being united as one big, happy, family. At the end of the night, Lauren and Maxwell were sent off with colorful glow sticks. This also made for some great shots.

This was a fantastic night. Weddings can sometimes feel very prim and proper, but this is an example of one that was all about classy comfort. A special thanks to Jennifer fox at JW Weddings for the coordination, Justin Wham of JW Weddings for the decor and florals, Harris Teeter Isle of Palms for all of the baked goods, and Kacie Faulling of Lashes and Lace for hair and makeup.

Nancy + Haniel’s Harbor Side Wedding

This destination harbor side wedding was one of culture and class. Nancy and Haniel are from Atlanta, Georgia, but originally hail from Kenya. This made for a great guest turn out from family and friends from overseas. The great Kenyan culture was palpable in the air and made this wedding ceremony and reception really special!

The Charleston Harbor and Resort and Marina made a delightful backdrop for these noteworthy nuptials. The couple passionately exchanged their vows on the pier amid the stunning views of the Charleston harbor. What a romantic sight to behold! The bridesmaids donned flattering pink colored dresses. A memorable moment was when the family sang some traditional Kenyan songs during the ceremony. This was a great touch that surely reminded the bride and groom of their home country. All of these great moments were captured by Surrender Films videography.

The reception was at the same location, but inside of the resort. There was still an amazing view of the harbor and bridge from the reception area. The color pallette for this event was mostly pink and white, but bright blue accents were added to emulate the feeling of the water in the harbor. The reception space was elegantly decorated with blush and cream florals by Loluma. This also tied in with the sweet cake by Cakes by Kasarda. The couple and their guests were having a ball while dancing the night away… just look how happy they are in these pictures! This day truly emulated the great love that the couple feels for one another.

This harbor side day was one to remember. Thank you to Snyder for the rentals, DJ Moo-Moo for the entertainment, Two Beautiful Hands of Atlanta for the hair and makeup, and finally to Kayla Turpin of MOD Events Charleston for the day of coordination.
