Claire and Dylan’s fabulous and fun-filled Island House fête was truly a night to remember. This couple was a blast to photograph!
This North Carolina couple met playing a flag football game in college. Claire was first drawn to Dylan for his crazy sense of humor. He proposed is a very charismatic way- during halftime at a basketball game! He was the mascot and sweetly asked her to marry him in costume during the halftime game. Claire and Dylan are proud puppy parents to Koda, who they were adamant about including in the wedding festivities and photographs as much as possible. The most important part of the day to the couple is the fact that they were writing their own vows. This added such a sweetly intimate aspect to the day that the bride and groom will treasure for a lifetime.
The day started off with both parties getting ready, thanks to Lashes and Lace for assisting the bridal party. Claire was a vision in her dress from Bridal Elegance in Richmond, Virginia. The theme of the wedding is rustic yellow and blue, so the boutonnieres were comprised of black-eyed suzie blooms and baby’s breath. Local Roots was able to cater to the theme seamlessly with sunflower and baby’s breath bouquets for the bridal party. The bridesmaids donned trendy navy blue mismatched dresses. The Island House was such a special venue for this wedding at this time of year because we were able to get some great shots in a nearby field of blooming flowers. The vows that the bride and groom wrote for each other were absolutely beautiful. This really made the ceremony much more meaningful. The reception was a blast with these playful newlyweds. Hamby’s catered some great food, and Lee Edwards provided the entertainment. All of the guests had so much fun dancing and cheers-ing the night away at this memorable fête.
