Dana + Casey’s Seahawks Inspired Nuptials

These two brides wanted to show their love for one another and for the Seattle Seahawks on this wedding day to remember. Rick Dean was able to capture some great shots of the brides wrapped in a #12 Seahawks flag that represents all Seahawks fans.

Dana and Casey are both Charleston County school teachers. Their love affair blossomed one summer while teaching summer school together. Both women love to entertain- which is what really prompted this fun filled wedding. For their first dance, they have choreographed an elaborate hip-hop dance routine. The guests loved all of the entertainment at the reception provided by D & M Productions. Dana and Casey are avid Seattle Seahawks fans, which is what inspired the color scheme of lime green, navy blue, and stone gray for this momentous wedding day. Both brides also enjoy outdoor activities such as paddle boarding and lounging as the beach. This played into their proposal because Casey took Dana on a romantic scavenger hunt that included all of their favorite things. They went paddle boarding and to lunch downtown at their first date spot before going to the beach where Casey got down on one knee. Little did Casey know that Dana had a ring for her too so they were able to romantically propose to each other.

The venue where the blushing brides will say their vows is lovely The Historic Rice Mill on the Ashley River. It was very important to these two women to honor their fathers who passed away before the wedding day. The bridal bouquet was adorned with a “J” charm symbolizing their fathers’ initials and two separate birthstone charms. Their fathers’ presence would surely be felt as they say their “I-do’s.” Keeping with the theme, the bridesmaids wore classy navy blue dresses. The cutest flower girl ever got all dressed up in a striped lime green dress. Dana’s full lace Mori Lee gown was purchased from Bridals by Jodi. Casey’s dashing outfit is from Express and was customized by Sig Rothschild. A really cool aspect of Casey’s outfit was custom Chuck Taylors in the wedding colors and the wedding date on the side of them. This is such a great personal touch- and one that is a keepsake for long after the wedding day. The exquisite wedding cake by Dolce tied in the wedding theme colors and flowers.

After all of the cake was cut and the dancing was done, Dana and Casey were whisked away in a vintage powder blue Ford. This wedding day was one of Dana and Casey’s wildest dreams. A special thanks goes out to Good Food Catering, Jennifer of JW Weddings as the wedding coordinator, and Justin and Jaqe of JW Weddings for floral and decor!
